WFM is governed by its Statutes and By-Laws that provide the governance framework for WFM concerning membership, finances and decision-making.
WFM’s Congress, is called every four years to review the fundamental policy of the Movement. If need be, it can update the Statutes and By-Laws or pass Resolutions. The Congress is chaired by the President of the Movement. The Congress elects a Council which meets between Congresses to monitor the activities of the Movement. Both groups are made up of representatives from Member and Associated Organizations,
The Council then elects an Executive Committee which typically meets four times annually. The Executive Committee monitors and gives concrete direction to the Movement.
The International Secretariat coordinates the efforts of the Movement by directing programs and ensuring communication between the various organizations.
