Montreux Anniversary Celebration highlighted in the Riviera Chablis 24 heures, 3 September 2007 Founded in the Riviera in 1947, the World Federalist Movement welcomed its delegates there last week. The World Federalist Movement? Behind this unfamiliar name hides an organization militating for "a world order through a reinforced United Nations.” Based in New York, the movement claims nearly 50 000 sympathizers throughout the world. Last week, in Geneva, was held its 25th International Congress. The delegates took advantage of the Congress to go to Montreux, Thursday afternoon, where their movement was founded, just sixty years ago.
